Da Costa, Isaac

   American merchant and shipping agent. He was born in London and emigrated to Charleston, South Carolina in the late 1740s. He was a founder in 1749 of Congregation Beth Elohim, where he served as cantor. Later he settled in Philadelphia, where he helped establish Congregation Mikveh Israel.
